Connecting your Google Calendar.
It takes about a minute. Swaddl is a Google-verified app, so you'll see Google's standard permission screen. Here's exactly what it asks and what to click.
Why we ask for your calendar
Connecting your Google Calendar is what lets families book intro calls and shifts with you. Swaddl puts each booking straight onto your calendar with a Google Meet video link, and checks when you're already busy so you're never double-booked. Until it's connected, families can't book an intro call with you.
Step by step
Click “Connect Google Calendar”
You'll find the button on your availability page. It opens a Google sign-in window.
Choose your Google account
Pick the Google account where you keep your work calendar: the one you want bookings to land on.
Leave both permissions checked, then click “Continue”
Google shows two checkboxes. Swaddl needs both to do its job: one lets us add and update your Swaddl bookings, the other lets us see when you're busy. If you uncheck one, the connection won't complete.
You're done
You'll land back on Swaddl with your calendar connected. From here, set your availability and families can start booking.
Don't have a Gmail address? You don't need one.
A Google account can be created with any email you already use (Yahoo, Outlook, iCloud, anything). Go to accounts.google.com/signup, choose "Use your existing email", and you'll have Google Calendar in about five minutes, with no new email address and no switching inboxes. Then come back and connect it here.
What Swaddl can and can't do with your calendar
Swaddl's calendar access has been reviewed and verified by Google. Here's the plain-English version of what those two permissions allow:
- We can add, update, and remove the events Swaddl creates for you (intro calls and shifts, with their Meet links).
- We can see when you're busy, so we don't book over your existing plans.
- We cannot read the details of any event we didn't create. We only see that a time is busy, never what it's for.
- We never sell your data or use it for advertising. See our Privacy Policy.
You're always in control
You can disconnect your calendar from your Swaddl settings at any time, or revoke Swaddl's access directly from your Google account permissions page.
